I get an email almost every day about this very simple subject, so I decided to put together a full article and video about this subject to answer this question once for all.
In this post, I’ll teach you to create your website in less than 5 minutes using a couple of affordable tools. No matter what you’re trying to do, whether it’s a simple site for your business or something like a blog and personal brand for your online business, this short article will answer most of your questions about creating a website.
Generally, you will need 3 things to set up your website. A hosting company, a domain, and a CMS or content management system. Allow me to explain these 3 so you understand what role each one of these tools plays in your business.
A hosting company allows you to store your website’s files on a server and will give you the systems you need to run your website’s software (CMS). We use Bluehost in our own business and we recommend it to all of our members as well. It’s affordable, has a great customer service and more importantly, is very reliable and provides powerful servers that can handle any type of traffic.

A domain is the name of your website and you can buy it from dozens of different companies online. You can visit sites like InstantDomainSearch.com to search and see if the domain you’re looking for is available or is already taken by someone else.
Keep in mind that you can get your first domain for FREE if you decide to use Bluehost as your hosting provider.
CMS or Content Management System
A content management system is a software that installs on your hosting account and allows you to run your website, publish content and do whatever you’re planning to do. There are dozens of CMS Softwares out there but the most common one (and the best one as well) is WordPress.
WordPress is used by over 100 million websites online and it’s the go-to CMS for every business. Even big news sites like CNN or VOX are using WordPress as their content management system.
WordPress is a free open source software and you can install the latest version of it using your Bluehost dashboard in less than 10 seconds. Watch the video below to learn more:
