Affiliate Marketing for Beginners: 3 Easy Steps to Get Started in 2018

Once upon a time, my first affiliate marketing project made me $25 (after 9 months!) and I felt like the most successful person in the world for a very long time.

It was crazy…

The idea of affiliate marketing is undeniable; who can resist passive income and making money online from home when sleeping or doing anything but work?

That’s why affiliate marketing is one of the most interesting and sought-after businesses of all time and in the age of the internet and online world, making money online is “the $hit”, isn’t it?

but here’s why most of the people won’t “make it”…

Affiliate marketing is a time-consuming business and requires some serious work and dedication. so before you start affiliate marketing, you need to ask yourself: how bad you want to become financially free?

because if your answer is: “I really want it”, then probably this business isn’t for you.

Here’s why:

You must want it with all of your soul. If you live and breath affiliate marketing, you will become successful in it and let me tell you one thing: it’ll happen fast (if you know what you’re doing) …

So I’m going to start by making your life much easier! If you’re not a fan or reading long articles (we get it), you can simply watch the video below to learn most of the things I’m about to teach you:

And here’s your next big problem:

Most of affiliate marketing courses won’t be able to help you, simply because they don’t teach affiliate marketing from a beginner standpoint. Unfortunately, this is a major issue in the affiliate marketing industry and we at Aversity believe that it’s causing a lot of damage to new marketers.

We have been hard at work here to solve that issue by providing detailed and step by step courses like Aversity Gold Masterclass where you learn to start an affiliate business from a beginner standpoint.

Now let’s get down to the nitty-gritty of affiliate marketing, shall we?

Step 1, Pick a Niche and Product.

When it comes to picking a niche in affiliate marketing, you need to consider many things at the same time. You need to see what you’re passionate about and like to promote as a person. One of the biggest keys to success in affiliate marketing will be your ability to create content around a product.

So for example, if you’re a health and fitness fanatic, it’ll be easier for you to promote products in that niche because you relate to it better than the average person and you’ll feel more comfortable giving information and talking about the subject.

Take a look at my niche as an example,

I’ve been selling things since I was a little kid to make money. I used to sell cookies in packages to the kids at my school when I was 9 years old. I didn’t need the money, but I enjoyed doing it and I just kept going as I got older and older.

and because of that, I usually focus on selling marketing and self-improvement related products. Take a look at my YouTube channel:

I don’t talk about anything but marketing, simply because that’s my niche and I love doing it. So you must find your niche and stick to it. This is where you need to invest some time to find what you love.

Next, you need to choose an affiliate network to find products to promote.

and this is where things become more interesting.

There will be different names, depending on what type of niche you’re in, but in general, there are a couple of popular affiliate marketing programs that we recommend you to start on:

#1: Aversity Partner’s Program

I know it doesn’t look good to have my own company’s affiliate program as #1 on this list, but hear me out for a second. Aversity is the only affiliate network in the world that gives exclusive training to its affiliates, and no one is doing this. Basically, you’ll have a chance to get results and make commissions even if you don’t a thing about affiliate marketing!

Not only that, it has an amazing community, coaches, weekly webinars and strategy updates to help you grow your affiliate business faster and easier.

#2: Clickbank

Clickbank is the most popular affiliate network on the internet for a couple of reasons. It has been around for a very long time and it is the to go place for entrepreneurs to launch their products. When it comes to downsides, Clickbank is the place people get confused. It doesn’t have a training for new affiliates and finding a good product can get really complicated.

After choosing an affiliate program and a product, it’s time to start building the fundamentals of an affiliate marketing business.

Note: Watch the video above if you want to learn more about choosing a product and what I do when I’m looking for a product to promote.

Step 2, Building Your Funnel.

You could promote products without funnels and landing pages, but here’s the problem with that strategy: it won’t help you to build a business. In order to build a business, you need to build leads and have a list of possible prospects for future use.

This is where the magic comes in…

Landing pages builder tools like Leadpages and autoresponder tools like Aweber will save you time and make this progress hassle free. Just take a look this amazing landing page I build for a dog training product with Leadpages in less than a minute:

I can’t stress enough how important it is for you to build a list and generate leads. Without them, you don’t have a business!

Step 3, Drive Targeted Traffic.

This step will probably be the most complicated step of your affiliate marketing campaign. Driving traffic isn’t complicated, but driving targeted traffic can get a bit overwhelming, especially if you’re new to the whole scene.

Note: Building a list (explained in step 2) will help you to get instant traffic without any advertising and hassle. That’s why it’s important to build a list of leads and customers as you move forward in your business.

My strategy is a little bit different when it comes to driving traffic to my offers. I always work to build a trust and relationship before asking for information or pitching a product. I strongly believe that traffic is always cold and you need to warm it up before sending it to your landing page.

Here’s a video from my YouTube channel, talking more about traffic and my strategy:

I have more than a dozen videos on my YouTube channel about traffic, so make sure to check them out if you need to learn more.

This is where I end this article. If you have any questions, simply leave a comment and let us know and one of our coaches or staff will answer your questions ASAP!
